Adding draft post functionality - it's a story!

This past weekend I added the functionality to view draft posts. I know that should have been a thing earlier on but I was thinking about it wrong, and unless it's clear in my mind I can't continue. Let me explain.

I thought the best way would be to list draft posts in a table on the profile page. Fundamentally not a bad idea, but just didn't sit right with me. Plus I would need to add 'edit' functionality to the draft posts - again, not difficult but didn't feel right. It was a classic case of over thinking things. When I feel like that is happening I don't normally take any action, so I left it.

Eventually, I decided the best way was to add a button to the profile page that allowed the user to view draft posts in the same format as viewing a posts page, and singular as in a post page - that is to say multiple drafts on a page, then click one to view the draft post, that post having the same format as a normal post, including the ability to edit or delete. It basically mimics the functionality of viewing the posts page, as well as individual posts. Jeez - I didn't make that easy to read did I?

This feels like the best way to do it, and it works well. I guess I could add the number of draft posts on the profile page, but I'm guessing the point is there shouldn't be too many drafts. Not sure that thought is mature enough right now though.

So, one more functional improvement is now live. I wonder what else I will come across as I continue to build out this platform. Time will tell!
